Welcome to our guide on how to upload videos to Google Drive and share them with your friends or colleagues. You can watch the video below on how to go about or or follow the step-by-step guide below the video.

Step 1: Login to Google Drive

To start, ensure that you’re logged into Google. You can see your login status at the top right corner of the page. Once logged in, navigate to the folder where you want to upload your video. If you don’t have a specific folder, you can simply create a new one by clicking on “New” and then “Folder,” and give it a name.

Step 2: Upload the Video

Uploading your video is straightforward. Once you’re in the desired folder, click on “New” (the plus sign) on the left side of the page, and then select “File Upload.” Your file explorer will open, and you can choose the video you want to upload.

You’ll see a circle at the bottom right corner of your screen showing the upload progress. The speed of the upload depends on the size of the video and your internet connection. Don’t click on the X sign in the circle, as it will cancel the upload.

Step 3: Sharing the Video

Once the upload is complete, you’ll see a checkmark indicating the completion. Now, it’s time to share the video. To do this, click on the three dots next to the video (More Actions), and then select “Share.”

Enter your friend’s email address in the pop-up window. Depending on what access you want to grant them, you can choose whether they can edit, comment on, or just view the video. After selecting the appropriate option, type your message and click “Send.”

If your friend is external to your organization, you might get a warning message. You can ignore it and click “Share Anyway.”

Alternative Way to Share the Video

There’s an alternative way to share your video too. Instead of clicking “Send” in the share pop-up, you can copy the link and send it via email or text message. If the link is open to anyone on the web, your friend will be able to view it. If it’s restricted, you’ll get a notification to grant access to your friend.

And that’s it! You’ve now learned how to upload a video to Google Drive and share it with your friends. We hope you found this guide helpful.
