About Dr. Mayo:
A Passionate Journey from Graphic Design to Digital Marketing Leadership:
Dr. Mayo’s journey began with a Bachelor’s degree in Fine & Applied Arts (Graphic Design) and a minor in Textile Design from Ladoke Akintola University in Nigeria. While honing his creative skills, he also gained valuable sales experience as a part-time associate at Footlocker.
Driven by a desire to delve deeper into marketing communications, Dr. Mayo pursued a Master’s degree in Integrated Marketing Communications at Roosevelt University in Chicago. His internship at RJ Dale, a prestigious African American advertising agency, saw him contribute to campaigns for renowned brands like Jewel-Osco, ComEd, and the DuSable Theater, further solidifying his passion for marketing. There, he honed his visual communication skills by working as a Junior Graphic Designer.
Building a Stellar Career:
Following his internship, Dr. Mayo embarked on a successful career path at American Intercontinental University. Starting as an Admissions Advisor, he transitioned through different roles, demonstrating his leadership potential. His dedication led him to become the Director of Admissions for International Admissions.
His exceptional performance caught the eye of the university’s corporate office, where he secured the coveted position of National Director of Admissions Operations. Here, Dr. Mayo leveraged his skills to develop and implement standard operating procedures that streamlined operations and boosted efficiency across various colleges. His responsibilities expanded to include overseeing general processes like mergers and acquisitions.
Combining Education and Expertise:
Dr. Mayo’s pursuit of knowledge didn’t stop there. He concurrently pursued a Doctorate in Business, a testament to his dedication to continuous learning. This achievement undoubtedly contributed to his success at the corporate office.
After the birth of his twins, Dr. Mayo, ever the entrepreneur, turned to his severance package as an opportunity for upskilling. He completed Black Belt Six Sigma Certification, further refining his analytical and process improvement capabilities.

Fueled by his marketing expertise and entrepreneurial spirit, Dr. Mayo launched his social media marketing business. His ability to connect with local chambers of commerce secured his first clients, laying the foundation for what is now BizCrown Media, a full-fledged digital marketing agency.
