Hello everyone! Today, we are going to explore how to send a video in Google Drive. If you’ve been struggling with this, don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. Let’s dive right in!
Step 1: Log into Your Google Drive
The first step is to log into your Google Drive account. Once logged in, navigate to the folder where your desired video is located. For our demonstration, we will be using a video titled “Winter Trees.”
Step 2: Access the Share Menu
To share the video, locate the three-dot icon next to the video file – this is the “More Actions” button. Click on it, and scroll down to find the “Share” option and select it.
Step 3: Add People to Share With
Once you select “Share,” you will be able to add people you want to share the video with. Simply type in their email addresses. For this example, we’ll use “[email protected]“.
Step 4: Set Access Levels
This is a crucial step. Here, you decide the level of access the recipient has over the video. The options are:
- Editor: They can edit the video, including changing its name.
- Commenter: They can view and comment on the video, but not make edits.
- Viewer: They can only view the video.
By default, Google Drive sets the access level to “Editor.” However, you can change this according to your preference. You also have the option to add an expiration date to the access, which is quite handy if you want to limit access to a specific period.
Step 5: Send the Video
Now that you’ve set everything up, click on “Send.” Google Drive might prompt you with a message asking if you’re sure about sharing the video with an external party. If everything looks good, click “Share Anyway.”
The recipient will receive an email notification, and they can access the video based on the permissions you set. Take note that if it is a large file, it might take a while to send depending on your internet connection.
Alternative way: Share the Link
Another way to share your video is by copying the link. You can find this option in the same “Share” menu. Once you’ve copied the link, you can paste it into an email or a text message for your recipient.
Do note that if you’ve set the video as a restricted file, the recipient might need to request access. In this case, you’ll receive an email notification and can grant them permission from there.
And voila! You now know how to send a video in Google Drive. We hope you found this guide helpful. If so, don’t forget to like this post and subscribe to our channel for more useful content. Until next time!
