Welcome to our blog! Today we’re excited to demonstrate a groundbreaking feature in Google Slides—creating images with Duet AI. This new addition is not just cool, it’s futuristic, opening up a world of possibilities for your presentations. Check out the video above!

Getting Started with Google Slides

Before diving into Duet AI, let’s ensure you’re set up correctly. To begin, you need to be logged into your Google account and have Google Slides open. Simply log into your Google account and search for ‘Google Slides’ to get started.

To create a new presentation, go to ‘File’, click ‘New’, and a fresh presentation will appear. The initial view includes a single slide where you can add the title and subtitle—similar to Microsoft PowerPoint.

For this demonstration, we’ll be creating an image for the second slide. To add a new slide, right-click on the existing one and select ‘New Slide’. For simplicity, we’ll delete any additional slides, focusing solely on slide two.

Creating an Image with Duet AI

Now, let’s delve into the exciting part—using Duet AI to create an image. Navigate to ‘Insert’, then select ‘Image’. Here, you’ll notice a new option: ‘Create image with Duet AI’. Clicking this brings up a sidebar to the right where you can enter your description and start the creation process.

Another way to access this feature, without going through the ‘Insert’ tab, is by clicking the ‘Create image with Duet AI’ button on the right-hand side of your screen. This button provides the same functionality.

You’ll also notice some inspiration examples like “light and airy modern kitchen design with a waterfall island” or “a fantasy castle surrounded by clouds made of cotton candy”. These prompts are intended to spark your creativity, guiding you on what to type into the description box.

Note that these examples change every few seconds, offering a wide range of inspiration from “a detailed and realistic image of a picnic on a colorful patchwork blanket at the park” to “cosmic galaxy artwork digital art soft focus”.

Duet AI in Action

Now let’s see Duet AI in action. We’ll use the prompt “two business professionals meeting over coffee”—an image you might want for a social media post or a Google Slides presentation.

Type your prompt into the description box and click ‘Create’. The system then takes about 20 seconds to generate your image. However, it’s important to note that Duet AI is still learning. If your prompt doesn’t yield an image, don’t fret. It may not be able to create all images just yet, especially those involving people.

Despite its current limitations, Duet AI offers a revolutionary way to create unique images for your presentations. As it continues to learn and improve, the possibilities will only expand. So why not give it a try and add a touch of magic to your next Google Slides presentation?
